Email Major Walden

Major David Walden


Prior to joining the Bossier Sheriff’s Office full-time, Dr. Walden served as a Bossier Reserve Deputy for more than 17 years. Dr. Walden also served 36 years with the Bossier Parish School Board. He is a Louisiana-certified addiction and domestic violence counselor, a Louisiana P.O.S.T.-certified law enforcement officer and a Louisiana P.O.S.T./FBI-trained classroom instructor. Dr. Walden earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Centenary College, Shreveport, LA, a master’s degree in education from Louisiana Tech University, Ruston, LA and a doctorate from NOVA Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Email Cpt. Mahoney

Cpt. Mark Mahoney


Cpt. Mahoney is a 16-year law enforcement veteran with the Bossier Sheriff's Office, having served in Communications, Corrections, Detectives, Patrol, Internal Affairs and Training, and he was part of the DWI Task Force. He has attended numerous law enforcement schools and is a Louisiana P.O.S.T./FBI-trained classroom instructor. Cpt. Mahoney has received several awards, including the Law Enforcement Commendation Medal from the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Bossier Sheriff Commendation Medal. Cpt. Mahoney is also a military veteran of more than 20 years, as a U.S. Air Force Military Police officer, a police administrator, a superintendent of law enforcement operations, and a police supervisor. He is a graduate of numerous military training schools, including the NCO Leadership School and the NCO Academy. He received his academic criminal justice training at Bossier Parish Community College, Bossier City, LA and Harford Community College, Bel Air, MD

Email Lt. Bright

Lt. Charley Bright


Lt. Bright is a military veteran of more than 20 years, having served in the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Air Force. Lt. Bright received the Purple Heart while serving in Vietnam and received the Air Force Combat Arms Manager of the Year Award while assigned to the Air Force Academy. He received the Law Enforcement Commendation from the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. In the Marine Corps, he served as an infantry rifleman, a grenadier, and a military police officer. In the Air Force, he served as a helicopter maintenance instructor and flight chief. His assignments included the Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Service and Special Operations. He served as a small arms instructor, a range master and a combat arms superintendent. Lt. Bright is also a 20-year law enforcement veteran with the Bossier Sheriff's Office, having served in Civil, Patrol, Warrants, Probation and Training. He also served as supervisor of the Criminal Records Division and established the Bossier Sheriff Young Marines. He has attended numerous military and civilian law enforcement schools and is a Louisiana P.O.S.T./FBI-trained firearms and classroom instructor. He received his associate degree in criminal justice from Bossier Parish Community College, Bossier City, La.

Email Lt. Teutsch

Lt. Bruce Teutsch


Lt. Teutsch is a 14-year P.O.S.T.-certified law enforcement veteran with extensive training in many law enforcement subjects, including firearms, narcotics, K-9, violent crime response, highway interdiction/criminal patrol, HazMat, SWAT, specialty impact munitions, chemical munitions, NIMS, Taser, RACC belt, PPCT defensive tactics, standardized field sobriety tests and the Louisiana Hunter Education curriculum. He is also an M-16 rifle armorer and is trained as a physical fitness specialist through the Cooper Institute. Lt. Teutsch is a P.O.S.T./FBI-trained classroom instructor, P.O.S.T.-certified firearms instructor, P.O.S.T. Firearms Curriculum Committee member and a member of the National Tactical Officers Association. He attended Louisiana State University, Shreveport, LA.

Email Deputy Bankston

Deputy Mike Bankston


Deputy Bankston has been a Post-Certified Law Enforcement Officer for 13 years with extensive training in basic and advanced SWAT, firearms, defensive tactics, tactical instructor, hostage negotiation, and bomb detection. He is a P.O.S.T/FBI trained classroom instructor, and P.O.S.T certified firearms instructor, and defensive tactics instructor. He served both active and reserve in the U.S. Air Force and retired with 30 years of service. Deputy Bankston served as a Combat Arms Instuctor and First Sergeant. He attended many schools including NCO Academy, Senior NCO Academy, First Sergeant school, FBI Sniper School, Special Operations School, and International Terrorism School. He received his General Studies Degree from Louisiana Tech University and his College Career Air Force Degree in Small Arms and Applied Science.

Email Deputy Rhodes

Deputy Sarah Rhodes


Deputy Rhodes is the In-Service Training and Training Coordinator at the academy. Deputy Rhodes is also the Academy’s law enforcement physical fitness program coordinator and instructor, and a defensive tactics instructor. In addition to holding a Louisiana P.O.S.T.-certified law enforcement officer certification, she holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in sport management from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. She has been with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office since 2008.

 


Administrative Assistant

Email Deputy Grosjean

Deputy Mabria Grosjean


Deputy Grosjean is the administrative assistant at the academy. Deputy Grosjean is also the master scheduler for all academy activities. She received her academic training at Louisiana State University, Shreveport, LA and Bossier Parish Community College, Bossier City, LA. She has been with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office since 2005 starting out in the Warrants Section working with law enforcement agencies and private businesses to apprehend subjects with active warrants. She was transferred to the academy in 2007 to handle administrative duties.
