ENROLLMENT: To enroll, please complete the registration form and return it to the North Louisiana Criminal Justice Academy, Deputy Mabria Grosjean at mgrosjean@bossiersheriff.com, or fax the completed registration to the academy at 318-965-3526. All Registration forms must be received on or before June 12 2011.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:The course includes Basic Issues: History of Corrections, Functions of the Jail, Role of Correctional Officer, Stress and LSA-DOC Guidelines; Supervision of Inmates: Principles and Skills of Supervision, Staff-Inmate Relations, Supervision of Inmate Activities; Inmate Discipline & ARP: Disciplinary Procedures and Administrative Remedy Procedure; Security: Booking, Classification, and Release; Principles of Jail Security, Security Checks, Tool, Key and Weapon Control, Fire Emergency, Cell and Body Searches, Emergency Procedures; Special Procedures:  Medical Treatment, Special Inmates, Health/Sanitation/Food Service, Suicide Prevention, Blood Borne Pathogens; and Inmate Services:  Mail, Telephones, Work Release Programs, Education, Canteen

DRESS: All attendees are expected to maintain a professional appearance by wearing the appropriate departmental uniform or business casual attire.
